We operate a clinical triage system for all urgent / emergency appointment requests.
When you ask for an emergency appointment, staff will ask you a few questions about your symptoms. The request will be looked at by a doctor. If the doctor wants to see you they will telephone you. If another service is suitable, a receptionist may contact you to book an appointment.
If you have certain symptoms that are "Red Flag" Receptionist will instruct you to attend A&E.
Patients are able to make appointments with the doctor, nurse and healthcare assistants. For all appointments please telephone on 0161 643 5005 and speak to a receptionist
You can also book appointments using the NHS App or Patient Online booking system. Kindly ring and speak to the Care Co-ordinator Jessica for help with this.
You do not always need to see a Doctor. A Nurse, Healthcare Assistant or another service may be more suitable.
There are services such as Mental Health, Physiotherapy, Childrens Nurses, Pharmacist available.
Reception staff are trained to "signpost" you to a suitable service. Signposting is not a clinical consultation to make a diagnosis or plan treatment.
We do not not to stop our patients from having appointments, but to make it easier for patients who need to see a doctor.
To help reception staff to make an appointment, you need to tell them a brief summary of your symptoms. They can then direct you to a suitable service or appointment.
If a GP has advised you to make a follow up appointment, please contact the surgery to speak to a receptionist. We are able to pre-book routine follow up appointments up to four weeks in advance.
Would you like an appointment with a GP, Nurse, or Health Care Practitioner in the evening or at the weekend when we are closed?
If so, you can book your appointment now by contacting us.
Access Services are an extension of our usual service, it is not a walk-in service, and you will need to make an appointment through the practice reception. The service gives you more flexibility in where, when and how you use local health services. It helps those who struggle to get to the doctors during the week because of work and family commitments.
Please note that whilst you may not get to see your own doctor during these hours, and it may not be at your own practice location, the GP or Nurse you see will have access to your medical record, subject to your consent.
APPOINTMENTS ARE AVAILABLE:
Monday to Friday - Daytime & Evenings
Saturday and Sunday - Daytime
Bank Holidays – Daytime
APPOINTMENT TYPES:
Face to Face – You will see a clinician in person and be required to go to the service location
Telephone Consultation – You will be called by one of our clinicians during your appointment time. This will be from a withheld number and you will not be required to go to the service location unless offered at the time
Bed-bound patients and those medically unable to come to the surgery may be able to have a home visit.
If you request a visit, the doctor will review your notes and decide if they need to visit.
All patients should try to attend the surgery if they are able to. A Doctor can see up to four patients for every one home visit.
To arrange a home visit, you must telephone the surgery before 11.00am.
If you need to cancel your appointment please ring the surgery to let us know as soon as possible.
You can also cancel via text message by replying CANCEL to your reminder message.

GP Registrars
The surgery trains GP Speciality Doctors. (GPST)
GPSTs are doctors who work at the surgery while they are training to be a GP. This is usually for 6 or 12 months.
They are able to see patients by themselves while training. They receive support and education from the GP Partners and Trainers.
